Carlos Miguel has passed a Nottingham Forest medical as he puts the finishing touches to a move from Corinthians, sources have told Football Insider.
Sources have said that the deal is now all but done with a full agreement in place and contracts exchanged.
An announcement is imminent and the Brazilian will be at Forest to join up for the start of pre-season.
Signing a new goalkeeper was a priority area for Forest this summer after only keeping four clean sheets last season. The club is also focusing on securing a new striker as they prepare for another season in the top flight.
Miguel’s contract with Corinthians was due to expire in December 2025, and he had become a regular for the Brazilian side this season after previously being seen as a backup option.
Carlos Miguel will bolster Nottingham Forest’s defensive side
Miguel joins Forest in fine form after keeping seven clean sheets in 14 appearances this season. That will be a welcome addition for Nuno Espirito Santo, as only the three relegated clubs boasted a worse defensive record than his team in the previous Premier League campaign.
Matt Turner, Odysseas Vlachodimos and Matz Sels all shared responsibilities in goal last season, with none of them managing to nail down the number one shirt on a full-time basis.
