Reported Celtic and Rangers target Owen Beck could yet remain with Liverpool next season, according to reports. Celtic and Rangers have both been linked with the Reds youngster in the past, thought the 21-year-old wound up joining Dundee in January on a loan deal, going on to make eight league appearances having also had a previous loan spell with the club.
With change afoot at Liverpool following Jurgen Klopp’s decision to walk away from the club, the future of Beck and many others remains unclear. New boss Arne Slot will want to make changes to the squad to bring his own vision to life, and as part of that, he will no doubt want to get a look at players before making any decisions over potential exits.
According to reports, Slot will run his eye over Beck and other youngsters in pre-season before deciding whether further loan moves are the best course of action. At 21 years of age, Beck will need to be playing regular football to continue his development, and if he is not going to get regular first team football at Anfield, he could be loaned out. Such an eventuality could spark interest from Celtic and Rangers this summer.
Upon returning to Dundee in January, Beck said: “I am made up to be back, after the first half of the season that we both had together. I now just can’t wait to get back out there and perform in front of the fans again. I am over the moon to be back. I just want to thank the Dundee fans for their support in the first half of the season, even when you found out I got recalled you were fantastic with me, but I am back again, so let’s get to work again.”
Beck wen ton to feature regularly but missed the last month of the season through a groin issue. The youngster was not among the youngsters called up by Wales for their friendlies this week, remaining an under-21s player for now
