Leeds United are expected to lose at least three star players before the end of the transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Crysencio Summerville, Georginio Rutter and Wilfried Gnonto remain likely to leave Elland Road this summer.
Daniel Farke is fighting to keep hold of his best players but he and the United recruitment team are scouring the transfer market to find replacements in case they leave.
Sources say all three of Leeds’ star men see themselves playing at the top level, and hope to move on to top clubs rather than stay in the Championship.Leeds United expect to sell two star players after transfer twist
Archie Gray has already left Elland Road this summer, moving to Tottenham in a deal worth £40million for the chance at playing regular Premier League football.
The sale of Gray means Leeds’ fears surrounding potential financial breaches have been eased, with no more players likely to be pushed out of the door.
However, with all three of Summerville, Rutter and Gnonto retaining ambitions higher than the Championship, sources say the club will accept ‘big offers’ for all three.
Rutter and Gnonto, meanwhile, have attracted interest from top-flight clubs across Europe and could be snapped up should an acceptable bid arrive at Elland Road.
Leeds United
Leeds are expected to be busy in the transfer market both with incoming and outgoing deals, but the priority for Farke remains to keep hold of his best players.
If key players do leave, the money will be reinvested back into the squad and on their replacements.
