Celtic’s hunt for Joe Hart is still ongoing as Brendan Rodgers looks for a safe pair of hands to replace his iconic former number one.
Hart hung up his gloves after three trophy-laden years at Celtic and signed off his Parkhead career with a league and Scottish Cup double.
In total, Hart’s contribution to the Celtic cause over the past three years earned him three Scottish Premiership titles, two Scottish Cups and two League Cups and love from his Parkhead teammates.
And let’s not forget he also earned the adoration of the worldwide Celtic fanbase. So the next guy to come in does have a lot to live up to.
Asmir Begovic ‘looking at options’ amid Celtic questions
Asmir Begovic was rumoured to be of interest to Celtic last month after reports suggested the club were looking at the now-free agent.
And appearing on talkSPORT with Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent, the former Premier League winner with Chelsea was quizzed on the link to Celtic.
Begovic said [talkSPORT], “I am currently looking at options, talking to obviously QPR and see what happens there, see what happens in the next few weeks, still pretty early in the transfer window.
“Nothing has been decided yet. I am keeping myself fit. I really enjoyed last year, the fact that I played so many games.
“In the second half of the season, for us, the team became together really well. Let’s see if we can keep this group of players together, have another run at next year, see what else is out there and take it from there.”
Begovic was then asked if he had the choice to stay down south or play football up north, which he would prefer.
