Nottingham Forest took to the pitch for the first time in the 2024/25 season on Saturday with a friendly against Chesterfield.
The League Two side welcomed Forest to the SMH Group Stadium for their first run out of pre-season.
Nuno Espirito Santo‘s men are preparing for the new campaign on the back of a turbulent 2023/24 term which saw the Reds narrowly avoid the drop.
But the game on Saturday provided Forest to turn the page on last season and also offered both Nuno and the fans to get a glimpse at some of the summer signings.
Forest sealed the victory with a 3-0 win thanks to goals from Chris Wood, Josh Bowler and Ibrahim Sangare in the second half but there were plenty of other talking points to take from the game.
‘Powerful’ summer signing impresses on his Forest debut
Forest have been proactive in this summer’s transfer window so far with four new faces through the foor already.
Carlos Miguel started the game between the sticks having only put pen to paper on his deal with Forest earlier in the week.
Big money signing Elliot Anderson was also on display as he made the starting XI for Nuno before being taken off at the interval.
However, there was another player who seemingly really impressed on his debut against the League Two side.
The German winger made the move to the City Ground this summer from newly-promoted Bundesliga side St. Pauli.
Interestingly, Moreira featured from right back instead of further up the field, but it does not seem as if that stopped him from getting forward.
Despite only being 18-years-old, Moreira’s power and pace was on display in what was an impressive display after coming on at half time.
Forest now set to jet off for Spain training camp
Now the players have had an opportunity to take to the pitch, the club will soon depart for Spain where they will play three further friendlies.
