Leeds United are set to receive a financial boost after the latest official news from EFL headquarters.
Despite missing out on promotion to the Premier League in 2023-24, Leeds are still the most money-spinning club in the Championship.
Leeds raked in £54.2m the last time they were in the second tier and are set to reveal slightly higher earnings when they release their accounts for 2024-25.
In 2019 and 2020, one driver of commercial income was their two-series Amazon documentary following the club, Take Us Home: Leeds United.
Now, Leeds can expect to receive another windfall from another similar income stream.
Leeds set to benefit from new EFL documentary
Today, the EFL released a statement inviting bids to produce and distribute a new documentary series focusing on the pyramid.
Leeds have the biggest global following in the EFL and will likely feature heavily in the series, although that is of course contingent on them still being in the Championship by the time shooting starts.
In any case, a Premier League documentary is also believed to be in the works.
No figures have been reported for how much Leeds made from the Take Us Home series, but CEO Angus Kinnear has said that the production helped attract a number of sponsors.
Exactly how the cash from the new EFL programme will be distributed is not yet known.
