Celtic could be sweating over the fitness of Daizen Maeda after the winger was subbed off in the first-half against Chelsea.
The Japanese winger was withdrawn after just 35 minutes at the Notre Dame Stadium, with Celtsleading 2-0 against their Premier League opponents. Maeda required medical attention after going down with a knock and was unable to continue as he was replaced by Honduras attacker Luis Palma.
Maeda was able to walk off the pitch without the aid of the physio and didn’t appear to be in any serious discomfort. Brendan Rodgers wasn’t willing to take any chances though and the Parkhead faithful will be hoping his early sub was just a precaution.
