Tottenham Hotspur won’t only be in the market of trying to improve their squad as they prepare for a 2022-23 season that will see them compete in the UEFA Champions League.
Despite most concerned as to what players could be coming this summer, the departures are equally essential to help offset any purchases they make to strengthen the squad. One player that appears on the way out is winger Steven Bergwijn.
According to De Telegraaf (via Fabrizio Romano), Tottenham has received Ajax’s official bid for Bergwijn. The report adds that the 25-year-old would be ready to agree to personal terms with Ajax on a contract until June 2027.
Nonetheless, talks remain ongoing between the two parties as Spurs are open to selling the 24-year-old this summer. Bergwijn made 32 appearances this past season for Spurs, scoring four goals and registering two assists.
When it comes to Bergwijn, the winger is under contract until 2024 with the Premier League side, and Transfermarkt puts his value at £16-million.
