Nottingham Forest are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to sign new players this summer – with a striker the order of the day prior to the transfer deadline tomorrow night.
A move for Forest to sign Santiago Gimenez has once again gone south. Likewise, Eddie Nketiah has chosen to sign for Crystal Palace instead of the Reds during this window.
Omar Marmoush looks like the talisman that Forest are pushing hardest for ahead of the deadline. He’s with Eintracht Frankfurt at the moment and the club are pushing hard to do a deal.
Thomas Frank won’t let Nottingham Forest linked striker leave
The striker in question was Brentford talisman Yoane Wissa – but it feels like an impossible deal for Forest to now complete.
Forest haven’t only cast their net overseas and targeted one domestic striker this summer – although that one now looks to be definitely off the table ahead of the deadline.
A bid in the region of £15 million was rejected by the Bees and now Frank has confirmed that he’d like to see the striker remain at the club.
Ahead of the window slamming shut, Frank told Sky Sports: “Wissa is a Brentford player. I am more than pretty confident (he will stay).”
Wissa has been with Brentford since 2021 when he checked in from FC Lorient in France and he’s kicked on as a player.
