Nottingham are said to be keeping a close eye on Real Zaragoza talent Adrian Liso with a view to signing the winger once the transfer window reopens in January.
Not only is Nuno Espirito Santo charged with improving the club in the present, beyond that of Premier League relegation battles, the manager has one eye on Forest‘s long-term future as well, and after Ayr United full-back Dylan Watret is said to also be seeking to add another promising winger to his ranks.
It is claimed by El Periodico that the club are ‘closely monitoring’ 19-year-old Liso – the current talk of the town for La Liga 2 side Zaragoza. It is said that Forest scouts were in position to watch his performance in Sunday’s 3-0 win over Elche, a result that put his team top of the division after four matches.
Liso has featured in all four of those to date, grabbing one assist in that time. Overall he has made 16 senior appearances, having made his professional debut in March, scoring twice in that time as well.
On the opening day of the 2024/25 campaign he was said to have put in an ‘outstanding performance’ in a 4-0 triumph over Cadiz, and has even been subject to a €4m (£3.3m) offer from La Liga outfit Getafe. However, the latest report warns Forest that they will have to shell out a significantly greater €15m (£12.6m) – the player’s release clause – in order to make a winter deal happen.
The Spaniard’s coach, Victor Fernandez, is hoping such an offer never arrives. Recently he admitted: “For me he is an important boy, that is what the clauses are for. He has played very few games in Zaragoza and he has to continue to mature.”
