Eddie Howe and Newcastle United can now fully focus on the Premier League without the unwanted distraction of the transfer window.
The Magpies were able to keep the likes of Alexander Isak, Anthony Gordon and Bruno Guimaraes and the importance of that can’t be understated. Newcastle won’t have to fend off an interest in their key players, but they also won’t be able to strengthen the squad themselves after a disappointing window in terms of incomings.
The Toon missed out on Marc Guehi as a marquee signing and attention has now shifted to the January transfer window. But what are the exact dates that Newcastle United need to be wary of?
It’s an easy date to remember this season. As is often the case, Premier League clubs will be able to do business once again from New Year’s Day (Wednesday, January 1).
When does the January transfer window close?
Leeds will have over a month to get their mid-season plans in order. The window will close at 11pm on Monday, February 3, bringing an end to deals for 2024/2025.
Similarly to this summer, the date was set in harmony with France, Germany, Italy and Spain, plus other leagues across the continent. However, once again like this summer, there will be additional scope for player sales to be sanctioned beyond February 3 – so long as the buying team are from an active market.
