Daniel Farke has named his squad for Leeds United’s return to Championship action against Burnley.
The Whites enter a game for the first time this season without any outside distractions from the transfer window, with this the first of a tough run of five fixtures before the next international break.
Farke shared an injury update in his press conference earlier this week and confirmed Dan James is set for another four weeks on the sidelines due to a recurrence of the hamstring issue.
Max Wober is also a doubt after picking up a knee injury while away with Austria that saw him play no part of their second match against Norway.
Burnley, meanwhile, could be without Connor Roberts on his first return to Elland Road after his loan spell last season. Summer Leeds target Manuel Benson is also out long-term.
Farke names Leeds squad to face Burnley
Aside from the doubtful, all of Leeds’ internationals appear to have returned to Thorp Arch without any injury issues.
Three of Leeds’ four signings in the last eight days of the window all got a first taste of action for their new side against Hull City and will be hoping for more today.
And according to Leeds Live, they could be joined in the squad by Leeds’ last signing of the window Isaac Schmidt, who was not signed in time to face Hull City.
Schmidt has had a full two weeks of training since his move from FC St. Gallen, with Farke suggesting he has not taken long to be loved by his new teammates.
One player who was not in the squad against the Tigers that could also play a part today is Patrick Bamford, following his return to team training on Tuesday.
The £7 million man missed both wins over Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City, but is available for this one.
Predicted Leeds XI to face Burnley
It is unlikely Farke makes many changes to the XI that won last time out. The back five of Illan Meslier, Jayden Bogle, Joe Rodon, Pascal Struijk and Junior Firpo almost certainly will remain the same.
Ao Tanaka will be pushing for his full debut since joining from Fortuna Dusseldorf, but may have to settle for a place on the bench behind Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev.
The most likely to potentially drop out of the side is Brenden Aaronson due to his later return from USA duty. Largie Ramazani could replace him for a first Leeds start.
Mateo Joseph, Wilfried Gnonto and Manor Solomon have all also been away, but should be fit enough to start.
