Nottingham Forest claimed a win at Anfield for the first time since 1969 on Saturday, with Nuno Espirito Santo doing something that not even the legendary Brian Clough could achieve.
Forest won the game thanks to a goal from Callum Hudson-Odoi. It came 18 minutes from time and ensured that the Reds remained unbeaten in the Premier League during the 2024/25 campaign.
It was the first time that Hudson-Odoi had scored this season. The 23-year-old fired home eight times last season and he will now hope to remain on the goal trail with the first one under his belt.
Forest were backed by many pundits and so-called experts to endure relegation this season. Although that might still be the case, it’s certainly looking like a far-fetched claim at this stage.
Robbie Earle has already changed his Nottingham Forest prediction
The NBC Sports pundit wasn’t alone in fairness. A number of lazy assumptions had Forest near the foot of the table, with some even predicting that Ipswich would stay up at the club’s expense.
It would appear that he’s already changed his mind about his prediction, however, following the 1-0 win over Liverpool on Saturday at Anfield.
Speaking on The 2 Robbies podcast, he said: “I had Nottingham Forest to go down by the way before a ball was kicked. I’m looking at it now and it looks like a terrible shout by me.”
