Leeds United sold Archie Gray to Tottenham in the summer for £40million, but his lack of impact so far hasn’t gone down well with Spurs fan Jamie O’Hara.
Leeds’ summer window saw them let a number of first team players leave the club for considerable fees, including Archie Gray.
He joined Tottenham for £40million after his release clause was triggered at the back end of June, seeing him join Ange Postecoglou’s youthful looking side.
After defeat in the North London derby against Arsenal, Gray came in for an indirect dig from Spurs fan and talkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara about their transfer policy in the summer:
O’Hara suggests that signing Championship players will bring likewise results, while claiming he would rather have Aaron Lennon, Tom Huddlestone and Jermaine Defoe – three players they signed from Championship clubs, Lennon himself being from Leeds.
However, despite his claim being shut down by fans pointing out the hypocrisy, he’s still not of the idea that Gray is a good signing from Leeds right now.
Have we brought in top players? [Dominic] Solanke, one good season at Bournemouth. Hasn’t scored yet. He’s had one good season at Bournemouth and we signed him for £60million.
“Brennan Johnson [is a] good player, a young player, Nottingham Forest, done the business of Forest. We signed him for £50 million. He looks miles off it, miles off it. And then I look at him and go, Archie Gray, good player. He’s from Leeds. It’s a Championship player. And we signed [Wilson] Odobert from Burnley.
