Nottingham Forest supporters have hit out at the FA after the Reds were fined a whopping £750,000 and warned over their future conduct after posting comments about VAR Stuart Attwell on social media in April.
The news has been met with a statement from the club who express their disappointment at the decision, and that has been backed up by angry supporters.
statement on Friday, Forest said: “Nottingham Forest Football Club is extremely disappointed with the decision of the Regulatory Commission to impose a £750,000 fine in relation to comments posted on social media following our Premier League fixture against Everton on Sunday 21 April.
We are particularly concerned that The FA, in its submissions, sought a sanction “in excess of £1,000,000”. We believe that this request, along with the subsequent fine, is wholly disproportionate and the Club will be appealing the decision.”
Gary P NFFC: Deserved a fine around the integrity of the game but it’s disproportionate by a factor of about 10… utterly ridiculous and especially when you see the City situation
Stephen Maywhort: The club should refuse to pay it .if man city who are worse don’t get done
