Mitchel Bergkamp, son of legendary Arsenal striker Dennis, has been released by Bromley after their promotion to League Two.
The 25-year-old joined Bromley in January 2023 but failed to make much of an impact in the National League.
The midfielder made nine league appearances in his first season with the club, just one of those coming in the starting XI, and he scored one goal.
In the season just gone, Bergkamp made just one substitute appearance in the National League and was not involved as Bromley beat Solihull Moors on penalties to join the Football League for the first time ever.
Bergkamp was part of a number of releases, with a statement from Bromley reading: ‘Everyone at the club would like to thank all of those who spent time with us on loan, as well as those departing Hayes Lane, for their efforts in a Bromley shirt and we wish them well for the future.’
What is next for Bergkamp is not clear, with a future in the professional game in doubt at 25 years old and without a club after an underwhelming spell in non-league.
The Dutchman spent time in Watford’s academy before moving to Bromley, but never made an appearance for the Hornets.
