Leicester City are the latest Premier League side taking a look at Matt O’Riley, according to a report.
The Celtic midfielder is hot property this summer after a scintillating season in green and white which seen him score 19 goals and add 15 assists, his most productive yet. Naturally, that brings admirers and a host of English sides are interested along with Atletico Madrid, who had an offer turned down in January.
Southampton, managed by the 23-year-old’s former MK Dons manager Russell Martin, have been the ones showing most interest recently. It was said the newly-promoted side were preparing an offer of an initial £20million plus add-ons but the Hoops were holding out for what would a Scottish record of over £25m.
The Foxes need a replacement for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who has just left for Chelsea in a £30m transfer, and want O’Riley, reports The Sun. They see the Denmark international as the perfect replacement as a midfielder who gets goals and assists. It’s said they will be at “full stretch” to get a deal done with Celtic.
