The Las Vegas Raiders went into this offseason with a win-now mentality. They added veteran Christian Wilkins to an already stacked defensive line. The Raiders have tried under new head coach Antonio Pierce to create an impactful defense. Before Josh McDaniels was fired as the head coach of the Raiders, they were ranked 23rd in points per game. After Antonio Peirce took over, the Raiders were 1st during the remainder of the season. Adding a talented interior pass rusher to the mix certainly helps things.
Las Vegas added another quarterback to the room with the addition of Gardner Minshew. Minshew is expected to come in and compete with Aiden O’Connell for the starting quarterback position. During the NFL draft, the Raiders selected tight end Brock Bowers with the 13th overall pick. Brock Bowers is a physical and dynamic player with great ball skills and run-after-the-catch skills. The Raiders also made efforts to improve the offensive line with the addition of rookie Jackson Powers-Johnson from Oregon in the second round and Delmar Glaze in the third round out of Maryland.
Raiders owner Mark Davis moved the team from Oakland, California to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2020. The Raiders, previously known as a poverty organization in Oakland, became one of the league’s most valuable teams since the transition from Oakland to Vegas. The Raiders’ new stadium cost nearly two billion dollars. The Raiders’ new home in Vegas is called Allegiant Stadium. Allegiant Stadium holds up to 65,000 fans, has 127 suites, and 8,000 club seats.
