Nottingham Forest’s Nigel Doughty Academy has long been a source of pride for the club thanks to the Reds’ fine history of bringing players through the ranks.
And the future continues to look bright, with plenty of exciting young talent in the Reds’ youth teams. Indeed, Forest recently announced 12 players had signed their first scholarships with the club, while youngsters Jimmy Sinclair, Aaron Bott, Jack Perkins and David Modupe all penned new deals.
Zyan Blake, Evan Boulter, Taeneal Brandy, Ethan Broomes, Isaac Davies, Frank Djamna, Bubbacar Sanneh, Fuad Smith, Zac Smith, Will Thompson, Jordan Willows and Jonathan Whiteley are the 12 to have agreed two-year scholarships. They will be part of the Under-18s squad next season.
Head of academy Chris McGuane said of the new scholars: “It is fantastic to see so many players being awarded with a scholarship having been at the club for a long time. A lot of these players have been with us from our youngest foundation phase age groups, showing a real pathway for local players across Nottinghamshire.
We are all excited to see how they will progress this season in their first full-time experience in football and the academy staff will continue to provide them with every opportunity to improve as players and as people. This is a talented and promising group of players who we are all looking forward to working with.”
