Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo is reportedly eager to reignite interest in £35m-rated Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.
Having secured Premier League survival, the Portuguese boss’ next task is to assemble a squad capable of fighting a level above that which they have been doing for two seasons on the bounce. As a former shot-stopper himself, Nuno seems to have identified this area as one still of immediate concern.
In the first half of the 2023/24 campaign, duties were shared by Matt Turner and Odysseas Vlachodimos but their collective failure to inspire saw Matz Sels brought in as mid-season reinforcement after Forest’s change in management.
Back in January the club were also said to have offered £15m to Liverpool for Kelleher, though this was swiftly rejected. Now according to the Daily Mail, Nuno is said to be ‘keen’ to test the Anfield club’s resolve again with circumstances much different to how they were six months ago
