RANGERS have been handed their 2024-25 fixture schedule – and WILL kick-off their campaign in Edinburgh as talks over a temporary switch to Murrayfield continue.
This morning’s big match reveal from the SPFL has set out the new season – but also left two other Premiership sides in limbo as to where their games will be played.
Renovation work in Ibrox focused on the Copland Road stand has hit a delay – forcing Light Blue leaders to look elsewhere to host their matches.
That sparked a scramble for temporary accommodation when the issue came to light last week – and furious bosses sacked the project manager.
It is feared the ground will be out of commission until end of August, potentially impacting FIVE games that will start Philippe Clement’s season.
The arrival of imported steel has been held up, causing work to add new viewing platforms for disabled fans to be paused.
But the SPFL – who said they were aware and working with Rangers over the issue – lined up their games regardless and confirmed the Gers WILL kick off their campaign in Edinburgh.
But they’ve been sent to Tynecastle to meet Hearts in a lunchtime kick-off on the opening day, August 3.
However another two games could be impacted by the Ibrox fiasco with’ ‘home’ games against Ross County and Motherwell scheduled in the first month of the calendar.
