It is always interesting to see what players go on to do in their careers after departing Celtic. Many go into coaching while others decide to take up other behind-the-scenes roles. And one former Hoops player has landed a job at Bolton Wanderers, bringing an end to his run as a first-team coach at Wigan Athletic, working with Shaun Maloney.
We are talking about Stephen Crainey. He spent time in the Celtic youth ranks and ended up playing more than 50 times for the club at the senior level.
Crainey would eventually go on to leave the club in 2004. He spent the rest of his career down south, having stints at teams like Southampton, Leeds United, Blackpool and Wigan Athletic. He played for Scotland about a dozen times as well.
